Employee training and development is an important part of any business. There are several ways to build and supplement your training program. Free online training is one of them.
We all want to complete our tasks in the most efficient way possible. Indeed.com lists "increased productivity and performance" as one advantage of training employees. The article goes on to detail that investing in training also shows employees that you value them. However, financial and time constraints can limit employee options for training.
To bridge the gap, employees may visit uncurated sites like YouTube or TikTok to learn tips and tricks. The volume of options can be overwhelming, and it is not always clear which "influencers" are reliable. There are other options.
Most major software vendors and coding bootcamps provide free on-demand or live online training. Providing employees with dedicated time to take advantage of these resources or using them as a part of your internal training and development program will serve both you and your employees.
